Rules for Press Enlistment
What do we need from you?
Only journalists that are registered at the Dutch Society of Journalist or a credible international equivalent thereof, will have access to the Boeddhist Teaching and the Public Lecture in the RAI conference centre on June 4th. As proof of this, you’ll need to send a digital scan of your press card to maarten@bkb.nl.
Code of conduct
In the venue where the Dalai Lama speaks we’ll set up a press quarter. Only reporters that enlisted beforehand will be allowed in. Filming and taking pictures is allowed only during the first few minutes of each session as the Dalai Lama enters the hall. After that all camera’s have to be put away. The organisation of the visit of the Dalai Lama will tape both sessions and has their own photographers. All the images they make are freely usable to all press. Registered press is allowed to stay in the press quarter during the sessions. However, there all must be absolutely quiet. So no walking in and out, no typing, etc.
Press room
Besides the press quarter in the hall, there will be a special press room in the RAI conference centre. Here both sessions will be shown on big screens. Here registered press can work freely, make calls, have interviews, etc.
Other press opportunities
Besides these sessions in the RAI conference centre on June 4th there are two other possibilities of capturing the Dalai Lama on camera and / or ask him one or more questions. This will be during a press conference upon arrival at Schiphol Airport on June 3rd. (the precise time of this pressconference is yet to be confirmed.) Also the Dalai Lama will open the Night of Tibet, that will take place in de Melkweg in Amsterdam on June 5th, from 4 to 9 pm. For each of these sessions you have to separetely register through maarten@bkb.nl.
